Fiona Flanagan

Midwife

Fiona Flanagan is a highly experienced Midwife working with the One For Women team. After graduating as a Registered Nurse at St Vincent’s Melbourne in 1991, Fiona has worked in a variety of roles relating to women and community health.

She spent two years working in the Kimberley as a nurse, before studying to become a Midwife at King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1995. After discovering her passion for midwifery and the subsequent birth of her two daughters, Fiona continued to practice at Bentley Maternity Hospital for more than two decades, supporting hundreds of mothers and their families through the journey of childbirth.

Fiona has also worked in the areas of Child and Adolescent Health, Street Doctor and Aboriginal Health. Over the years, she has continued to gain qualifications in lactation, becoming a Lactation Consultant in 2014, and a Continence Nurse Advisor the following year.

Fiona is passionate about assisting and supporting women and their partners in adjusting to their new roles as parents.
