Angela McCarthy

Angela McCarthy is a Registered Nurse and Midwife who loves watching couples become parents, and families grow as older brothers and sisters meet their new sibling for the first time.

After completing her Bachelor of Nursing at Edith Cowan University in 2000, Angela went on to complete a graduate program at Royal Perth Hospital and then worked as a registered nurse at Royal Perth Hospital for 6 years in burns and haematology. During this time she worked on the Home Bone Marrow service, which allowed patients to receive their chemo and bone marrow transplants in the comfort of their homes.

In 2007, Angela completed her postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery. She trained as a midwife at Rockingham Kwinana Hospital before completing a graduate midwife program at Armadale Health Service. Angela went on to work at Armadale Health Service for 13 years across the birthing spectrum including running the Next Birth After Caesarean clinic. She has also been the Antenatal Clinic Coordinator for the last 3 years and helped start up several specialised clinics to cater for women with gestational diabetes and from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds (CALD). Angela has attended many waterbirths and VBAC’s, and is currently studying to become an endorsed midwife.

Outside of work, Angela loves spending time baking and at the beach, and most importantly time with her husband, 2 beautiful children (boy and girl) and crazy Border Collie.
