Dr Alison Soerensen
General Practitioner and Lactation Consultant
Dr Alison Soerensen comes to One For Women as a GP IBCLC with an interest in maternal and infant health. She offers mothers and babies (especially those with complex health issues) access to holistic, continuity of care that balances feeding goals with their medical and psychosocial needs. She holds a Diploma of Breastfeeding Management from the Australian Breastfeeding Association and a Diploma in Child Health from University of Sydney.
Alison completed her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2010. She was then employed by the South Metropolitan Health Service as a junior doctor from 2011-2014 before undertaking her community GP specialisation in the Peel Region. In August 2017, Alison returned to work as a Fellowed GP at Murray Medical Centre, Mandurah.
Outside of work, Alison is mum to three young children and lives in the Peel region. She has two dogs, Casper (a 9 year old white German Shepherd) and Lottie (a 2 year old Golden Retriever). She loves musicals and one day dreams of travelling the world and sharing some fabulous shows with her kids!
