Dr Suzanne Bicker

General Practitioner

Suzanne (or Suzie) is originally from a village in southwest Scotland and graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 2000. After four years of enjoying further hospital-based training around Edinburgh, she moved into General Practice obtaining Membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners and became a Partner within a rural practice a year later.

Adventure and better weather called Suzie to Australia in 2013, along with her husband and two children. She now has 18 years of experience in women’s health, paediatrics and neonates, mental health and general practice antenatal and postnatal care. She also has a special interest in providing healthcare for teenagers and young adults in a confidential environment.

Suzie loves the medical variety and continuity of care in general practice as well as the team environment, particularly working within a multidisciplinary practice team consisting of practice nurses, community midwives, child health nurses and social workers working alongside. She believes this allows for wonderful sharing of skills but more importantly, an environment in which the patient has caregivers who are all under the same roof and communicate daily.

Outside of work, Suzie calls on her past experience as a ballerina and spends Friday afternoons with a bunch of teenagers teaching them various genres of dance.
